Alejandro Ahmed (b. 1971) is an Uruguayan Brazilian choreographer. He is the artistic director of ‘Cena 11’ a dance company based in Florianópolis, southern Brazil. His current investigations focus on new definitions of choreography. Terms such as ‘choreographic situation’, ‘immaterial choreography’ and ‘generative dance’ are strong foundations in his work as a choreographer and performer. When writing about Cena 11 some critics like to use the expression 'punks of the Brazilian dance and performance scene' and that has a certain nostalgic ring to their earlier pieces. Their unique style make true their legendary reputation.
