Alejandro Ahmed / Cena 11
Alejandro Ahmed (b. 1971) is a Uruguayan Brazilian choreographer. He is the artistic director of 'Cena 11', a dance company based in Florianópolis, southern Brazil. Generally speaking, his works reveal a desire of breaking through the boundaries of the body, exploring the possibilities of transcending it and in a very unique way. At the heart of his work lies the relationship between dance, science and technology. When writing about Cena 11 some critics like to use the expression 'punks of the Brazilian dance and performance scene' and that has a certain nostalgic ring to their earlier pieces. Their unique style makes true their legendary reputation.
