Ayur (The Moon)

In the 19th century racism, colonialism, anti-Semitism patriarchy and nationalism was significant in shaping societies and in the knowledge production. In this time every kind of indigenous or popular knowledge that did not correspond to that of the ‘civilized’, was consistently destroyed. These erased narratives still influence our present towards local and global contexts.

Ayur is the first piece of a new trilogy by Radouan Mriziga that will be developed between 2019 and 2021 inspired on Amazigh female epistemologies.

Ayur/Tanit, goddess associated to the moon in the punic Carthage, is as a solo by and with  Tunisian dancer  Sondos Belhassen based on texts written by the poet Lilia Ben Romdhane and rapper Mahdi Chammen “Massi”.
