The "New School" is a pilot project to create a future inter(national) research and education center in Marnitz, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, dedicated to the preservation of dance and the performing arts.  A place of learning and experimentation,  where artists, researchers, universities students and practicioners from different backgrounds, come together in seminars and artist residencies aimed to investigate and imaginatively work towards developing non-existing expertise and strategies for the preservation and restauration of performing arts.

The impact of the Covid 19 pandemic on established production and performance practices has further highlighted how important the preservation of works is to our sector and the art form as a whole. At a time when works and their lifespans are are in jeopardy, we need new strategies to create access points beyond the existing logic.
