TOUR MANAGER (F/M/D)

Free-lance contract with a probation period.

Something Great is looking for a free-lance tour manager based in Berlin, Germany.  Under the coordination of our Head of Tour Management, our tour managers ensure that our guest performances and tours run smoothly and without any organizational issues. They are well-prepared and organized professionals with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and people who need to have particular attention to detail. They shall convey that all the hospitality needs are met and deal with all the issues and obstacles that sometimes arise before or whilst on tour, dealing with them resourcefully, efficiently and in a professional manner.

Specific tasks include, but are not limited to:

  • Proceed with availability checks of the artist’s team whenever requested and needed;
  • Drafting of travel, rooming and per diems lists;
  • To liaise with the host venues/festivals (production and administration), artists’ teams (performers, technical director, technicians, etc.) and external services providers ( transportation/shipping companies, travel agents, etc).
  • To ensure that all the agreed financial, technical and hospitality needs are met by the host venues and festivals.
  • Drafting of general information sheets to be sent to the artist’s team before each tour, with detailed information about arrivals and departures, accommodation, working schedules, etc.
  • Travelling with the cast and crew of the production whilst on tour;
  • Dealing with any problems that may arise before or during guest performances and international tours, such as travel disruptions as well as cast and crew illness, etc;  
  • Support the administrative work related to the management of tours, such as contract drafting, collecting receipts and invoices, payments, etc.  

Skills:
  • A university degree in humanities, arts, cultural studies or cultural management (university degree is not necessary in the case of equivalent training) or at least +3 years of related professional experience.
  • Excellent knowledge (written and spoken) of English language and German (at least B2). 
  • Project / Production Management skills
  • High organisational competence
  • Knowledge of the international performing arts scene (familiarity with the dance sector is an advantage)
  • Responsibility, flexibility, ability to work independently
  • Availability to travel regularly.
  • Driving license (not mandatory). 

We offer:

  • Free-lance contract fee (to be negotiated) 
  • Coverage of international travel, accomodation and per diems costs for the pre-defined tours and guest performances. 
  • Reimbursement of costs (gasoline, train, etc), whenever applicable.
