OPEN DOORS
Something Great's new house at Schloss Mentin has been home to several artists and cultural professionals since this summer. There, we have been developing some of the activities of the pilot project "New School". Before our inauguration event in August 2023, we will open our current and future workspaces to the public for the first time already this year on the 1st of October 2022.
It would be our pleasure to have you with us on this open doors day!
PROGRAM
14:00: Lecture "Documentary Choreography" by Arkadi Zaides (In English) as part of the pilot project "New School"
15:00: Lecture "The art of midwifery" by deufert&plischke (In German) as part of the pilot project "New School"
16:00 - 19:00 - Social gathering: Beverages, snacks and music!
16:00: Guided Visit (in English and German) in our current and future workspaces as well as inside the Schloss Mentin (Group 1)
17:00: Guided Visit (in English and German) in our current and future workspaces as well as inside the Schloss Mentin (Group 2)
18:30 - Closing performance with Jalil El Yazidi (Music) and Ellada Damianou (Dance).
VISITORS FROM BERLIN OR ELSEWHERE
Travelling from Berlin, Hamburg or elsewhere by car
Mentin is located one hour and a half between Berlin and Hamburg and is reachable via the German A 24 highway (Suckow exit).

Travelling from Berlin by train
Pick ups/drop offs:
For those coming from Berlin without a car, we can offer pick-ups at the Pritzwalk train station in Brandenburg starting from 12:00. Later, we can offer you a drop off at the same train station until 20:30 at the latest. Please check the train times on the Deutsche Bahn website. If you plan to come by train and you need us to pick you up at the Pritzwalk train station, please get in touch with Imma Scarpato, by September 29th 2022, at the latest. Unfortunately, due to our event timetable, we can only offer pick-ups and drop-offs in certain times. Alternatively, you can also book a taxi at Prignitz mobil (you need to do it one day before at least).
If you want to leave the day after, there are still some hotels in Pritzwalk available (In Mentin and other places in Ruhner Berge, unfortunately there is no more availability). See below. After the event on Saturday, we can take you to your hotel in Pritzwalk (until 20h30 at the latest). Still, once again, we ask you to inform Imnma Scarpato in advance so that we can organize the transfers accordingly. Thank you!
Accommodation
Unfortunately, our accommodation facilities in Mentin are fully booked on that day, and we do not have availability to host anyone else in Mentin on the night of October 1st. Nevertheless, there are some hotels in Pritzwalk with rooms available, and they can be booked via booking.com.
