In his works, the Uruguayan Brazilian choreographer Alejandro Ahmed has been exploring different ways of expanding and questioning the notion and limits of the body. In Z, his most recent solo creation, sound is the synesthetic drive for the performer's body movements.   The starting point for this creation was Alejandro Ahmed's own personal history. He was born with osteogenesis imperfecta—a genetic disorder characterized by bones that break easily, often with no apparent cause.  After six fractures between November 2014 and February 2017 (olecranon, talus, medial lateral, calcaneus, scapula, L1 vertebra), he decided to do a solo in which he could embrace his singularity  as a performer.  The result is a visionary sound and dance performance in which the space and the body exist far beyond the physical.
