About us

Something Great is a non-profit organisation and centre for contemporary performing arts based in Germany.

Founded in 2017, it began as an independent organisation in Berlin dedicated to the international dissemination of contemporary performing arts. It has since developed into an arts centre at Schloss Mentin in the Ruhner Berge, a rural municipality just 1.5 hours from Berlin and Hamburg in the northeastern German federal state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.

The centre comprises four multi-use venues that will gradually open to the public between 2026 and 2030. Its programmes span residencies, community initiatives, and public events, as well as the touring of works by associate artists and radio broadcasts, creating diverse connections and exchanges across wide-ranging audiences and contexts — from rural to urban, from local to international.
