Sandwalk with me
In bustling metropolises, people often find themselves rushing from one place to another. "Sandwalk with me" presents an urban artistic intervention aimed at encouraging citizens of major cities to embrace the concept of slowing down amidst the chaos of urban life. Marcela Levi and Lucía Russo extend an invitation to join them on a leisurely stroll through the city center, accompanied by a group of fellow "sand-walkers," all equipped with special shoes and noise-canceling headphones to dampen the city's cacophony. This unique experience offers participants the opportunity to literally immerse themselves in the moment.
Originally developed as part of the Rio Occupation London initiative—a program conceived by the Rio de Janeiro State Culture Secretariat and produced by People’s Palace—Sandwalk with me engages spectators as active participants in its exploration of urban rhythms and the art of deceleration.
