In ANGELA (a strange loop) by Susanne Kennedy and Markus Selg, a woman's life unfolds in a space that constantly shifts between the real and the virtual. This is the story of Angela, a seemingly ordinary social media influencer who suffers from a mysterious illness spreading inside her.
With their metamodernist aesthetic and multimedia approach, German theater director Susanne Kennedy, in collaboration with visual artist Markus Selg, once again transcends the traditional limits of theater. In this new creation, they plunge into a labyrinthine, ever-changing multimedia production that blurs the boundaries between perception and reality. What is going on inside Angela’s restless mind? Everything she dreams, hears, and thinks manifests itself in space, just as everything happening in the world is reflected within her—like a state of unstoppable hyper-inflammation—leading to a strange and endless loop.
What is Angela’s disease a symptom of, and what does it reveal about what it means to be human today?
