This DJ Is Wonderful & Sharon Mercado Nogales

In our second SG Radio show, Rui takes the mic as host. The first part features another exclusive mix for the SG Radio from our resident This DJ Is Wonderful, followed by a conversation with Sharon Mercado Nogales.

Sharon is a Bolivian choreographer who spent a short residency in summer 2025 at the SG Arts Centre. In the interview, recorded during her stay, she shares insights into her artistic practice, reflecting on the role of Bolivian folklore dances in building community and their deep ties to land and agriculture. She also talks about her exploration of Technocumbia and her upcoming project Remix, where she reimagines popular rhythms as tools for connection and collective memory.

Alongside this, Sharon speaks about her role as co-founder of Moviendo Territorios — a collective that organises parties in Berlin to raise funds for projects connecting and supporting communities across the Andes, Wallmapu, and El Chaco through the building of greenhouses, collaborative practices, and acts of community care, resistance, and solidarity. Their work is about weaving bonds between places, bodies, and histories — and Sharon brings that spirit into the conversation.
