We warmly invite you to a special summer evening at the estate of Schloss Mentin in Ruhner Berge for This resting, patience — a performance by Ewa Dziarnowska, a dancer and choreographer from Poland based in Germany. This three-hour choreographic work brings performers and audience together in a quiet, welcoming atmosphere. It’s not a conventional stage show — you’re free to come and go, stay as long as you like, and experience the moment in your own way.

In a time shaped by conflict, uncertainty, and division, This resting, patience offers a space for something else: presence, slowness, and shared attention. It gently echoes the spirit of the song “What the World Needs Now (Is Love)” — made famous by Jackie DeShannon and later reimagined by Dionne Warwick — not as nostalgia, but as a reminder that care and connection are still possible, and still necessary.

The performance explores states we all know: closeness and distance, longing and togetherness, loneliness and connection. It unfolds gradually, like a quiet ritual, inviting reflection — personal and collective.

Since its premiere at Berlin’s Tanztage Festival in 2024, This resting, patience has toured across Europe. As one reviewer wrote, it is “a powerful and moving dance work that makes you feel like you’re seeing dance for the very first time.”

Join us on 23 August 2025 at SG Arts Centre – Halle 1 in Mentin (Schloss Mentin, Ruhner Berge). Bring friends, bring family, stay as long as you like — and share in a rare kind of gathering, right here in Ruhner Berge.

A pop-up cafeteria at SG Halle 1 will offer drinks and snacks before, during, and after the performance. We look forward to welcoming you.
