In Begüm Erciyas' "Forest Silent Gathering", a group of spectators gather in the forest at sunset and listen to a soundtrack through headphones. Erciyas creates an audio-social structure that allows people to be isolated together. The changes in distance welcome a new closeness to be sought; those who are not present become the main characters. As the collective territory is shaped and modified, "Forest Silent Gathering" provides an opportunity for relationships between individuals, the forest, and the past. What keeps us together? What brings us together?
