At Something Great - Zentrum für Internationales Zeitgenössische Darstellende Künste, we welcome artists and creatives from diverse backgrounds and career stages to develop their projects within the frame of our residency program. Rooted in the principles of freedom, our residency offers a space where artists can create, research, and develop projects without production demands or compulsory participation in events. This liberating approach allows for authentic and uninhibited engagement with their practice. Due to ongoing and forthcoming renovations, we are currently only able to provide limited free housing for residents at our guest artists' house, which is just a 5-minute walk from our workspaces at Schloss Mentin. For larger groups, accommodation can be arranged at nearby hotels. Starting in 2026, in addition to the guest house, we will offer accommodation for guests and visitors in a former distillery building within the estate of Schloss Mentin, where 12 double guest rooms with own bathrooms will be available, along with a shared kitchen and living area.

FUTURE WORKSPACES
In addition to its current workspaces at Schloss Mentin, another former ancillary building of Schloss Mentin is in the planning for renovation. This former stables building is slated to become the primary venue for Something Great's arts center, serving both indoor and outdoor exhibitions in the fields of contemporary performing arts and visual arts. It will also provide additional studios that can be used for residencies in addition to our current ones.
